What is MB,UB,LB,SU,SL, Berth? which is best?

Me and my family are going to Mangalore by Indian Train and on our tickets these kind of Berth are specified so which Berth Should I Chose?

MB=middle Berth

UB=Upper Berth

LB=Lower berth

SU=Side upper

Sl=Side Lower



UB will be preferable if your are young enough to climb as no one will disturb you in your journey.

as earlier person has explaind its berth positions. SL, LB is the window side berths. SU, UB are top berths. SL, SU comes at the aisle and so people keep walking around. u decide rest.

I usually prefer the upper berth if I am traveling alone as the disturbance will be less, and I can sleep as long as I like.
