Actually, it's extremely difficult to get train tickets to go anywhere from Chennai until Dec 26! Because of Christmas and school holidays, the trains are all booked out... I know because my dad was trying to get tickets to go to Coimbatore a few days ago and he visited the website... and he couldn't get tickets.
