I am more interested in giving serious useful info. See my other answers also please.

The only one answer I want to give you is that you have given too little information to give any suggestion.

Please understand that moving out of country may give you a lot of problems. I have no intention to frighten you. But you should study and understand all aspects before jumping into a decision.

Study- 1) Cultural difference (including dress code 2)Economy difference (an Indian middle class may be poorer than the poorest of American) 3) Financial aspects (Do you carry money, if so how? Do you have other plans as working with local business to earn etc, if so how) 4) Legal aspects 5) Medical precautions (you are going to be exposed to all types of new bacterias, and deseases), 6) Housing (Where to live? furniture, other facilities) 7) Climate 8) Language (accent difference with Indian English), 9)Traffic, 10)Political situation including political and communal tension in the region I dont want to name all here..

I would strongly suggest to you to join a travel forum like http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com OR http://www.indiamike.com also try to contact http://www.bangalorebusinesses.com/bangalore_resorts/owclub.html (it is overseas women's club) and ask if they have similar groups in other cities of India. You may also get legal opinion.

I know a lot of students from african countries staying in India for studies. The police harass them if they overstay and ask big bribe amount. Normally examination results/answer sheet etc do not come on time and you should anticipate such delay and plan in advance.

Secondly, I guess (I am not sure), a person who comes as student can not work here with the same visa. So what is your intentions? Study, work or travel?

For many, after 6 months, they may have to leave country. I dont know if it is relevent in the case of student visa.

As I said, you have not specified your motives and plans. And it needs a lot of discussion to come to a conclusion. Join a travel forum today, other experienced travelers will help you.

Try and get a scholarship for studies or research. Or, if you can pay for your education, I think, it's not a problem. I'm sure Dubai will be more complicated to get into. India is easier in this sense, it's cheaper too. But it depends upon your area of interest... what exactly you want to do there... I can definitely say with India you have much more chances, but then, if you are not familiar with the culture and way of life, you may find it difficult to adjust there.
